Description
The Impro MDR-SE multi-discipline reader (MDR-SE) range offers a wealth of technology in a small mullion footprint. A unique feature of the reader is the ability to read both 125kHz and 13.56MHz credentials, along with HID Global’s high security Seos credentials. The reader is available in two variants, being OSDP (the global IEC open standard) or the older Wiegand protocol. The OSDP version provides cost and installation efficiencies due to the use of two-wire cabling, as well as the ability to run cables up to 1,000m from the controller.
The Wiegand variant can operate up to a 150m wiring distance. Another benefit of the OSDP variant is bidirectional communication, which allows for infield configuration through Access Portal software, as well as constant monitoring of the reader state. Both variants are suitable for outdoor use with an IP54 rating, and the connection is via a terminal block, for simplified installation.
The readers provide peace of mind security through an AES128-bit encryption between the reader and controller/module. This is made possible via the open OSDP protocol, or Impro’s proprietary Wiegand standard. The MDR-SE range comes standard with a tri-coloured LED and buzzer, which can be controlled to suit the specific needs of your application. Readers are compatible with Access Portal software, from version 4.4 upwards.
